Happy Christmas Greetings! I hope the pre-Christmas rush hasn’t been too shambolic for you (I’ve been itching to find an excuse to use the word ‘shambolic’ for a while now. Thanks. That’s much more comfortable.) Let me start by thanking you for your support this year. It’s been a busy one, with markets, expos, conventions, and a hugely successful book store launch for Sympath. I’ve also received some really beautiful reviews, which etiquette states that I shouldn’t respond to, but I really need to say how grateful I am and how incredibly blessed I feel when I read them. Special thanks go to my ever-faithful beta-readers, to my fellow ‘Oddies’, to the inspiring and encouraging members of the YA Room Melbourne and also to my new friends at the YA Book Stop. If you’re looking for new and exciting YA reads, check out both those links. You might even find the perfect book to fill that Christmas gift gap you’ve been stressing over.
Enjoy the giving season, and remember that it can be a tough time of year for some, so please check in on your friends and family, and perhaps even that crusty neighbour who scowls at everyone. You never know when reaching out might make a massive difference to someone. It’s also a great time of year to remember to take care of yourself, too. Possibly by sitting down with a good book. Perhaps by losing yourself in a beautiful garden. Perhaps both at the same time? Speaking of clever segues into books about pretty Gardens…
The final book in the Sentinels of Eden now has a shiny new title and a release date!
Shamar – Sentinels of Eden #4 (pronounced Shaw-mar) will be launched in June 2019 by Odyssey Books. The final version has now been submitted to the publisher, and work has commenced on designing yet another intriguing cover. I don’t want to give away too much, but Shamar will certainly weave together both Lainie and Annie’s stories. After all, past, present and future must be interlinked, n’est-ce pas?
As usual, closer to the launch I’ll be releasing a bonus extra chapter that won’t be contained in the official book. A teaser. An aperitif. Something sweet and mysterious to whet your appetite. So keep an eye out for your exclusive bonus material. Also, as promised, I will soon be selecting a few lucky readers to receive and advance review copy (ARC) of Shamar. Please shoot me a message or email to let me know if you are interested.
In the meantime, enjoy your Christmas, however you choose to celebrate. Embrace the joy of both giving and receiving, and stay safe!
